The Tamiya Wild One Max by The Little Car Company picks up prestigious Top Gear Retro Hero Award.
In the annual Top Gear Awards last week in London, Tamiya rubbed shoulders with the likes of Aston Martin, McLaren, Porsche and Lamborghini, when The Little Car Company picked up the Retro Hero award for the fabulous Tamiya Wild One Max.
The superb road going electric full-size version of the Tamiya classic was picked as the best car in category by the Top Gear judges for it’s capability, looks and sheer Tamiya cool. Leading motoring writer Jason Barlow put the full size Tamiya buggy through its paces in off-road rally conditions to firmly confirm The Wild One Max as something special. The test was also featured in the current (Jan 2024) issue of Top Gear Magazine.
The test showcased the ability of the highly engineered Wild One Max, which has been in development for the past four years, as a very capable all terrain vehicle and not a simple retro homage.

The Wild One Max has also been developed with the blessing of Tamiya, who have been involved in each stage of the project. The full size electric buggy replicates the Tamiya icon and receives added touches for real world running, like mud guards covered front suspension and widescreen wipers, all required to make the Wild One Max legal and practical for day to day use.
Officially Brilliant in Both Scales!
The great news is the Tamiya Wild One (58525) is back in stock in time for Christmas. So if you want fun in 1/10 or 1/1 scale there are two options to enjoy.
