Al Murray Visits The Hobby Company

The comedian, historian, author and extremely talented model maker took time just before Christmas to visit his field of dreams!

During lockdown in 2020 Al Murray, AKA The Pub Landlord, emerged as a very accomplished modeller, as he built a series of Tamiya based dioramas to critical acclaim.

The Hobby Company were therefore delighted that Al could find time in his busy schedule to visit and wander through the showroom, seeing the warehouse and to be surrounded by his beloved kits.
He was joined by Tamiya Model Magazine Editor Marcus Nicholls.

Al was blown away by a selection of Tamiya 1/35 tanks which Marcus had built complete, with his trademark stunning weathering and period correct detail.
The two chatted for a while about the history of many military vehicles, battles and of course Al’s passion; Tamiya 1/35 Military kits. The conversation was fascinating, as the two dug deep into WWII history and Tamiya’s back catalogue!

You can catch Al in 2024 on his bi-weekly We Have Ways podcast, which looks at all things WWII with military historian James Holland (wehavewayspod.com).

For further information on Tamiya, Dragon, Italeri and Zvezda military model ranges go to www.hobbyco.net Alternatively contact your Tamiya dealer or enquires@hobbyco.net 01908 605686
Al as The Pub Landlord also will be back on the road in 2024 for the Guv Island Tour.
