Tamiya Take Over Glastonbury
Jadlam Toys and Models hold two days of Tamiya themed events at Somerset shop

Leading retailer Jadlam Toys and Models hosted two superb events at its large shop in Glastonbury on the 15th and 17th of August, attracting hundreds of model and RC fans.

The Somerset-based business split the Tamiya promotions over two separate days. The first event, Cars at Jadlam, was a Thursday evening car meet, featuring many vehicles of interest, including rally cars and supercars. Also on display were three full-size Tamiya cars: the Bruiser, the Wild One Max from Hedley Studios, and the Collecting Cars Toyota GR Yaris, which drew much attention.
Visitors were invited to drive Tamiya Vanessa Lunch Box cars on a specially designed oval track including a jump.

The track again proved popular, attracting drivers young and old. It was remarkable to see how this popular RC vehicle withstood so must punishment and with complete reliability over the two days!
Day two and Saturday 17th saw the second day start in bright Somerset sunshine. The Tamiya Takeover event would be a full day of Tamiya fun, with the Tamiya Track and the three show cars being central to the event.
The event also included a 1/14 scale Tamiya truck display of working haulage by local Mendip RC Truckers.
In store visitors were treated to live Tamiya plastic kit builds by renown modeller Jonathan Mock and RC demo’s and builds by Tamiya specialist and collector John Porter.

Meanwhile in the shop, business was strong with the event attracting around 1,000 shoppers.
The whole event was deemed a huge success and it is hoped further similar events will take place in 2025.
