Although having existed as a company for much longer, LGB made its first large size model train in 1968 in G Scale. The track gauge of 45mm became popular with garden railway enthusiasts due to its robustness and reliability. LGB models are ideal for people who like to be out in the wind and weather, who love their garden and who want to devote themselves despite this to their hobby – model railroading. The overwhelming majority of the LGB models are produced in G Scale and are 22.5 times smaller than the real life prototypes.
