Valentino Rossi
Presented With Tamiya 1/12
YZR-M1 ‘09 Model
On October 3rd, 2010, representatives
from Tamiya, Inc. visited the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Tochigi Prefecture,
host of the MotoGP Championship’s Japanese Grand Prix, to present finished 1/12
scale Yamaha YZR-M1 2009 models to Yamaha’s MotoGP class riders, including
Valentino Rossi.
Fiat
Yamaha Team rider and 2009 MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi was presented with a
finished example of Tamiya’s “1/12 Scale Yamaha YZR-M1 ‘09 Fiat Yamaha Team”
motorcycle model. Rossi’s teammate Jorge Lorenzo had also been presented with a
finished example of this model during his pre-race visit to Tamiya’s official shop
in Tokyo, Tamiya Plamodel Factory – Shimbashi.
In addition, Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team riders Colin
Edwards and Ben Spies were presented with finished examples of Tamiya’s “1/12
Scale Yamaha YZR-M1 ‘09 Monster Yamaha Tech 3” motorcycle model, which will be
available in Japan in November.
For the Yamaha riders, the YZR-M1 is an indispensable
partner in their challenge for the championship title and all of them expressed
delight in seeing their bikes recreated with such exquisite detail.
Furthermore,
Rossi was shown a prototype sample of Tamiya’s upcoming “1/12 Scale Valentino
Rossi Figure (High-Speed Riding)” model, which is planned for release in January.
Rossi is known for his love of the modeling hobby and appeared to be very
pleased with how accurately this figure model depicted his riding form.
